Preserving and protecting the Fourteeners for future generations to enjoy is a big task. Colorado Fourteeners Initiative uses a four-step process to minimize impacts on these heavily used peaks. The steps are: 1) build sustainable summit trails, 2) restoreclosed social trails, 3) maintain constructed trails, and 4) educate the public about minimum impact recreation practices.
